How to run a program automatically when Windows starts

If you always use the same programs after starting the computer, such as a Web browser or an e-mail program, you can make sure that these programs start automatically when Windows starts. Programs or shortcuts placed in the Startup folder will run each time you start Windows.

Click Start, choose All Programs, click with the right mouse button on the Startup folder, and then click Open.

Open the location that contains the item for which you want to create a shortcut.

Click with the right mouse button on the item and then click Create Shortcut.

The new connection will appear in the same location as the original entry.

Drag the shortcut in the Startup folder.

Next time you start Windows, the program will run automatically.
